Save $17 on 2/17

There is $17 worth of savings this week in The Blade. Yes, you read that right. . . that seems so odd to type $17. Even with only $17 you won’t be disappointed if you have any shopping to do. We have a $10/$25 purchase at Macy’s. With the current President’s Day Sales going on, you will be able to pair that coupon with some pretty AWESOME deals. You can still snag some winter clearance (sweaters, coats, etc.) as all the summer clothes are on the racks now.

Since we are not receiving many coupons, I would recommend going through your old coupons and get rid of all the expired ones. As always, remember our military overseas can use the expired coupons up to six months after the expiration date, so find a family that you can bless.

How many of you are like my family where you celebrate Valentine’s Day the weekend after so we can save over 50% off of many of those items? It’s just another day right?! Seriously, would you expect anything else from me, the lady who LOVES to save money? Just makes sense to me to wait a few extra days after the 14th to be able to save BIG! I load up on the Valentine’s Day Candy and use it for Easter baskets also LOL 😊 Yes, I really do and you should too!

What are you doing on Thursday mornings? Be sure to listen to 101.5 The River at 8 a.m. as I will be on with Rick giving the best deals of the week and of course using my “coupon voice”. I get SO excited to share the deals with all of you. I always give a detailed breakdown of each deal I talk about. I will save you over $20 weekly if you purchase all the deals I mention 😊 That’s money in your pocket!!

There are also MANY printable coupons that you can print from freetastesgood.com – just go to the website and then click on the printable coupon’s dropdown box. Print those coupons and BAM you will save $1, $2, or so much more!!

I strongly encourage you to pick up extra papers and save BIG. You will save a TON on things you buy and use every day. Did you know if you already subscribe to the Blade, you can pick up additional Sunday papers for ONLY $1? Visit freetastesgood.com and I will show you how!

Don’t pay full price, let us show you how to save with the Blade’s weekly coupons. Follow us daily on the Blade Plus FB page and the blog and/or visit us also on
FB at FreeTastesGood. Let us do all the work for you. It’s like putting extra money in the bank.

Just the coupons I mentioned above total over $10 in savings and that is only a few of the many coupons that we will be receiving this week. This is a great week to pick up a few EXTRA papers!! It really is that easy. Go to the store, take your coupons, and BAM you will be saving each week on things you already purchase.

The paper pays for itself when you take advantage of the $17 in savings this week. Go out and have some fun, but most importantly save money right here weekly in The Toledo Blade where Saving Money with Joni makes Cents!!

Save $116.50 on 2/3

There is $116.50 worth of savings this week in The Blade. We will be receiving 1 SS (Smart Source) and 1 RMN (Retail me Not). Many of these coupons pair nicely with the current Kroger Mega Event running through Tuesday, 2/5!

This Kroger Mega Event is a Buy 6, Save $3 instantly. Remember, you do not have to purchase 5 of the same items, you just need to purchase in quantities of 6 of participating products, i.e. items that are included in the Mega Event.

Here are a few of my favorite Kroger Deals:

Aussie Shampoo or Conditioner – $2.29
Use $2/2 coupon from RMN insert
Final Price: $1.29 each

Tide Laundry Detergent – $4.99
Use $3/1 coupon from SS insert (if included)
Final Price: $1.99 each

Colgate Toothpaste – $1.99
Use $1/1 coupon from SS insert
Final Price: $0.99 each

Here are a few of my other favorite coupons:

· $1/1 All Laundry Detergent
· $0.50/1 Snuggle Product

The Kroger Mega Events are the best for those of us that coupon. Not only are the sales amazing, but when you pair those sale items with coupons, you can snag some pretty AWESOME deals.

They have some pretty great filler items too if you need to reach the 6 items. The individual mac & cheese cups are only $0.49. These make for easy lunches for the kids. We have also used these to make up food care packages for the Ronald McDonald House. We put in the individual mac & cheese, an applesauce, granola bar, and a water bottle. You can put whatever you want in them, but this blesses the families so much. They can go to the hospital and visit their kids and have a FREE lunch to take with them.

We know this first-hand as our son, Jonah, had open heart surgery two years ago at Mott’s Children’s Hospital and eating in the cafeteria adds up quickly. It’s the small things like this that can really impact a family that is struggling already. Nobody wants their child to be sick so a small care package can put a smile on their face. #KindnessAlwaysWins

Now since we have all survived that terrible cold spell we just had, it feels like spring with the temperature today 😊 I love teaching you all how to save money on a weekly basis, but I also hope you also take the time to help those less fortunate in our community. With this cold spell, we took some blankets out to the homeless and hand warmers. We have done these things, because we want our kids to know we should always be looking for opportunities to give a hand up to those who are struggling. We don’t’ know their story, but if we feel prompted to help, we should.

What are you doing on Thursday mornings? Be sure to listen to 101.5 The River at 8 a.m. as I will be on with Rick giving the best deals of the week and of course using my “coupon voice”. It really is that easy. Go to the store, take your coupons, and BAM you will be saving each week on things you already purchase.

Save $55.05 on 1/20

There is $55.05 worth of savings this week in The Blade. We will be receiving 1 SS (Smart Source) and 1 RMN (Retail Me Not) insert this week.

Here are a few of my favorite coupons this week that pair with the current Kroger Sale.

Kroger Deals:

Colgate Toothpaste – $0.88
Use $0.50/1 coupon from SS insert
Final Price: $0.33

Colgate Toothbrush- $0.88
Use $0.50/1 coupon from SS insert
Final Price: $0.33

The coupons also mentioned below will pair nicely with the next Kroger Mega Event:

· $1/1 Wonderful Pistachios coupon
· $0.50/1 Wonderful Pistachios coupon
· $1/1 SuperPretzel coupon
· $1/1 Irish Spring Body Wash coupon
· $0.50/1 Palmolive Coupon

In addition, we will be receiving over $21 in Purina coupons. This would be a great time to help one of our local animal shelters. When we can purchase products at such a discount it is a great time to give back. Many of these shelters count on the donations from our community.

How are all of you doing with your New Year’s Resolutions? I will admit my New Year’s Resolution was to lose weight. I started out strong and lost 8 pounds, but then . . . well, I started eating those wonderful pistachios and chips (yes, chips are my downfall). I even tried to throw all the chips away in our house. But Guess what? I ended up at the store buying more lol 😊 And pistachios, well those things are SO addicting. I remember in the day eating the red pistachios that turned your fingers red. It made it tougher to sneak them without leaving the evidence. The new and improved wonderful pistachios make it much easier to sneak them. It seems every time I try to sneak them though, I get busted. I’ve even tried to hide from everyone in the house and still get caught!!

I would also like to wish my Father-in-Law, Tom Crothers, a very happy birthday on Tuesday. He is a great dad, father-in-law, and grandpa and we love him to pieces. We are very blessed to have him as a part of our lives. If you see him out and about, be sure to wish him a Happy Birthday.

What are you doing on Thursday mornings at 8 a.m.? If you are not busy, be sure to tune in to 101.5 The River as I will be on with Rick giving the best deals of the week and of course using my “coupon voice”. I will give a detailed breakdown of each deal I talk about so it makes it super easy for everyone to save. Most weeks, I will save you over $20 in just the deals I mention 😊 That’s money in your pocket!!

Save $13.50 on 12/23

There is $13.50 worth of savings this week in The Blade. Here is what we will be receiving

· $10/50 Kohl’s Purchase
· $3.50/$15 Ulta Purchase

These are two AWESOME coupons for last minute Christmas (Hanukah/holiday) shopping. I can always find something at Kohl’s to purchase. Can any of you relate to that? That’s one of my favorite stores!!

Since we will not be receiving many coupons this week, this is a good time to sort through old expired coupons and get rid of them. Remember, you can donate them to most VFW Halls or coupsfortroops and they will see that the expired coupons get to our military overseas. The military, overseas, can use expired coupons up to six months after the expiration date. This is a good way to bless them and it doesn’t cost us anything.

This week is one of my favorite weeks. A lot of last minute traditions we do as a family from going to the Lights Before Christmas at the Zoo, taking in a move on Christmas Eve, and baking cut out cookies with the kids and grandkids. I am big on traditions as I think memories will always outlast any gift our children or families will ever receive from us. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and enjoy family time 😊

We served well over 500 people at our FREE Community Christmas dinner at St. Lucas Church last Sunday and gave out 79 toys to kids. Thank you to all of you that donated and came out an volunteered.

Be sure to listen to 101.5 The River on Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. as I will be on with Rick giving the best deals of the week and of course using my “coupon voice”. I always give a detailed breakdown of each deal I talk about. On average, I will save you over $20 weekly if you purchase all the deals I mention 😊 That’s money in your pocket!!

Save $37 on 12/16

There is $37 worth of savings this week in The Blade. We will be receiving coupons for Bed, Bath & Beyond, Kohls, Food Town, and Steak N Shake. This is a nice addition since many of us will be out doing some Christmas shopping.

If you are still Christmas shopping, which I’m sure many of you are, here are a few coupons that you may want to use:

· $15/$50 Bed, Bath, and Beyond Purchase
· $10/$50 Fine and Silver Jewelry Purchase

These are two of my favorite places to shop. At Bed, Bath, & Beyond, you can always find the latest and greatest gadgets. Actually, my husband, Jamie, probably loves this store more than I do. He goes in scouring for the coolest, new gadgets and comes home to try them out LOL 😊

I hope all of you are taking the time to really enjoy this holiday season. We spend so much time trying to find the PERFECT gift, but the PERFECT gift is just being present in others’ lives. We were able to celebrate Christmas with our older children and our granddaughter on Saturday and got family pictures taken. My heat is so full of joy. Just watching Christmas through the eyes of a child is priceless. The innocence and excitement and the joy of making lasting family memories with them is so enjoyable. Making cutout cookies and flour everywhere (makes for a huge mess), but knowing the grandchildren will be grown before we know it, so just enjoying the laughter and excitement and knowing the mess can be cleaned up.

We have started many new Christmas traditions over the last few years. Our families will remember the time we spent together and memories we made more than any gift we could give. We all need to slow down and be in the moment. Not worrying about the next thing we have to do.

Today, we will be serving a FREE Community Christmas dinner at St. Lucas Church at 745 Walbridge Street in Toledo from 4-5 pm today – ALL ARE WELCOME!! There will be a visit from Santa who will be handing out gifts to children 10 and under (while supplies last). We will be serving ham, mashed potatoes, and all the fixings; plus some pretty amazing desserts.

· $10/$50 game purchase
· $25/$100 game purchase

That’s a 20% and a 25% savings. We always make up a game bag/box for our kids for Christmas Eve night and sit around watching the Hallmark Channel and playing games. Honestly, I may be the only one watching the Hallmark Channel as everyone else in my family have had enough LOL😊

W also have several restaurant coupons including the following:

· $12 at Bob Evans
· $4 at Steak N Shake
· $11 at Honeybaked Ham

These restaurant coupons are perfect for grabbing a bite to eat in the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping. Plus, you can grab a Honeybaked Ham just in time for that Christmas Dinner.

I hope all of you are taking the time to really enjoy this holiday season. So often, we get so busy with the hustle and bustle and finding the PERFECT gift, but the perfect give is just being PRESENT! Our kids and families will not remember all the gifts they received, but they will have fond memories of Christmas because of the memories that we make as a family by just being there. We have really slowed down this Christmas and I actually have all our presents wrapped already so now I can just sit back and enjoy the decorations, baking cookies, and I LOVE watching the Hallmark Channel; even if I have seen most of the shows several times 😊

I would like to wish our son, Jonah, a Happy 15th Birthday. He has overcome a lot in life already and actually had open heart surgery almost 2 years ago at the age of 13. We are extra thankful every year for this gift we were given. Happy Birthday Jonah! We love you!

If you are blessed this year with an overabundance be sure to pass the blessing on and share with others. There are so many charities currently taking donations to give families gifts that are struggling this year. One of my favorite charities is Blessings in Disguise. This was the organization that paid off several Walmart Layaways a few years back. They also do a lot for the elderly in our community.

This is truly my favorite time of year. I have so many fond memories of my childhood and how my parents made our Christmas so special; not with gifts but memories of spending time together with family. I LOVE sharing many of these traditions with our kids and now our granddaughter. We started a new tradition of 25 days of Christmas Books, where for 25 days (beginning December 1st) she will have a new book to open. This will consciously give her mom and dad a time to slow down each night and read to her. We often get caught up in the gift giving and just the busyness of shopping and forgetting to slow down and enjoy the time we can spend together. We need to be more cognizant and make memories that will last a lifetime.

Save $130.75 on 11.16.18

There is $130.75 worth of savings this week in The Blade. We will be receiving 1 RMN (Retail me Not). We have $15 worth of coupons for Max & Ermas and $11 worth of coupons for Honey Baked Ham. These coupons are AWESOME for Thanksgiving Dinner and then of course for eating out after Black Friday Shopping.

I want to remind all of you to grab those turkeys now if you plan on having one for Christmas because they usually won’t be on sale as cheap as they are now. So while you are out grabbing your Thanksgiving one, grab an extra one for your Christmas dinner. Or you can be like my family and we go to a Chinese restaurant on Christmas. We started this tradition several years ago after watching the Christmas Story. It has honestly been a very fun tradition for us and we always thank those working on Christmas.

We will be doing our annual FREE Community Thanksgiving Dinner at St. Lucas Church on 745 Walbridge Street (off Broadway and South) today from 4-5 p.m We will be serving turkey, dressing, and all the fixings of a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner. ALL are welcome to join us and enjoy great fellowship. We ALWAYS have enough food for everyone and many delicious desserts also!

If you are looking for any Black Friday specials be sure to follow my blog at freetastesgood.com beginning Monday (tomorrow) at 1 a.m. when the Kohls Black Friday Deals go live. I will be up and posting all the TOP deals including getting 3 small kitchen appliances and getting paid! YES, you read that right, you can get 3 small kitchen appliances (blenders, crockpots, toasters, waffle makers, etc) and after all the rebates and cash back you will get paid! If you or your family are not in need of any of these items, please consider donating to many of our local homeless shelters. This would be a huge blessing to them.

In addition, we will be focusing on HOT Christmas item deals. If you are looking for something and would like my help to find it the cheapest, be sure to email me at joni@freetastesgood.com. I get so excited helping others (or spending your money, LOL)

There are also MANY printable coupons that you can print from freetastesgood.com – just go to the website and then click on the printable coupons dropdown box. Print those coupons and BAM you will save $1, $2, or so much more!!

There is $128.85 worth of savings this week in The Blade. We will be receiving 1 SS (Smart Source) and 1 RMN (Retail me Not). Many of these coupons pair nicely with the current Kroger Mega Event running through Tuesday, 11/13!

This Kroger Mega Event is a Buy 10, Save $5 instantly. Remember, you do not have to purchase 5 of the same items, you just need to purchase in quantities of 10 of participating products, i.e. items that are included in the Mega Event. This is the BIG food/Thanksgiving Mega Event 😊

· Green Giant Canned Vegetables – $0.49
· Swanson Canned Broth – $0.49
· Campbell’s Gravy – $0.49
· Creamette Pasta – $0.49

The shelf life on most canned goods are 1-2 years, so we stock up BIG! Last year I bought several cases of these items (I meal prep monthly) and I just ran out of our canned goods a few weeks ago. I was able to save our family almost $500 in just canned goods from this sale.

There are also $11 worth of coupons for Honeybaked Ham. Do you have turkey or ham for Thanksgiving or both? We usually make both. Nothing better than filling your bellies up and then going out Black Friday Shopping 😊 This is my favorite time of the year. Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? How many of you already have your trees up? We do. . .well, some of them. We put 10 up, yes, 10!!

There are many local charities providing Thanksgiving Baskets for families in need and this is a great time to pick up a few extra items and donate to help a family out in our community. Giving back is the best thing we can do while we are saving money! Be a blessing to others. If we all gave 1 or 2 items, every person in our community should be able to have a nice meal on Thanksgiving.
