You can NEVER have too much laundry detergent, right?! Many of the schools in Toledo and surrounding take donations for laundry detergent and toothpaste. We have 2 amazing deals on toothpaste, one will even be FREE 😊 Yes, you read that right, FREE!! That means get some for your family and then pass the blessing on to others. How cool would it be if everyone picked up one extra item and donated to our community. Clean clothes and clean teeth for everyone in Toledo and surrounding areas 😊

Talking about back to school – how many of you are taking advantage of the tax-free weekend that ends tonight at 11:59 PM? During the holiday or tax-free weekend, the following items are exempt from sales and use tax:

· Clothing priced at $75 per item or less;
· School supplies priced at $20 per item or less; and
· School instructional material priced at $20 per item or less.
This is the third year and this saving adds up quickly. In addition, most of the stores have additional savings to get you into their store so if you are able, take advantage of this Tax-Free Weekend and have some fun with your kids 😊 There are a few Kohls coupons that pair nicely with this event:

This makes for a great time to get those items and maximize your savings with the tax-free weekend in addition to coupons 😊 Who doesn’t love saving mone?!

Have you also noticed all the stores have their school supplies out? Before you know it, they will be putting out Christmas stuff LOL!! In addition, Office Max/Office Depot has a ton of great weekly deals including their $0.25 deals. Each week I put a shopping scenario together of school supplies to save you and your family money, plus allowing everyone to pick up a few extra items to donate to one of the many Back to School Projects. If you follow all the weekly deals, you should be able to fill each backpack (excluding the dreaded calculator) for around $10! What are some of your favorite memories for back to school? How many of you used the paper grocery bags for your book covers? We didn’t have all that fancy smancy stuff.

I have put together another Kroger Shopping Scenario. You will get over $300 in retail for under $100. That includes 10 bottles of laundry detergent and many other every day items we use. I have step-by-step instructions making it super easy 😊

Be sure to listen to 101.5 The River on Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. as I will be on with Rick giving the best deals of the week and of course using my “coupon voice”. I always give a detailed breakdown of each deal I talk about. I will save you over $20 weekly if you purchase all the deals I mention 😊 That’s money in your pocket!!

I still remember this was my favorite thing about going back to school was getting all those new school supplies and organizing all of them. Can any of you relate? My oldest daughter said it was like Christmas morning for her. She loved her school supplies, even when she was in high school.

Save $122.95 on 7.6.18

There is $112.95 worth of savings this week in the Toledo Blade. We will be receiving 1 RMN (Retail Me Not) and 1 SmartSource. There are so many fantastic coupons especially since we have another Kroger Mega Event beginning Wednesday, July 11 through July 24. You all know this is when I get really excited and my “coupon voice” goes into full swing.

This is a great time to stock up on many items that you use every day. It doesn’t take much to save a LOT during these events.

I have also put together a Kroger Shopping Scenario that you can get over $300 in retail for under $130. All of these products are stuff the majority of us use daily and especially in the summertime.

The $0.50/1 Colgate Toothpaste coupon can be used at either Dollar Tree or Kroger to snag toothpaste for only $0.50. I always say you can ALWAYS get toothpaste for FREE, but if you are just starting $0.50 is a good price too J

Here are a few of my other favorite coupons:

· $0.80/1 PureSilk Shaving Cream
· $1/3 General Mills Cereal
· $0.50/2 Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks
· $0.50/1 Colgate Toothpaste
· $14 worth of Clairol Hair Color.

In addition, we have over $9 in Boston Market, $7 in Red Lobster, and $3 in Steak N Shake. I LOVE how many restaurant coupons we receive in the summer. I think they know that many of us don’t like to cook in this HOT heat.

People often ask me why I don’t do matchups for the hair color products so I am going to share. My husband, Jamie’s, moustache was starting to turn grey and our older kids were giving him a hard time. So one day he decided to use some color on it to get rid of the gray. He thought it looked good, but I am here to tell you it turned auburn (red). It was so noticeable. He looked like he had a big bushy cat’s tail on his face LOLJ So because of that, I don’t usually share those deals, because I am afraid he will see it and run out and get some more and try it again. On a positive note, those that do like to color their own hair can use those $14 worth of Clairol coupons to snag hair color for FREE to cheap.

We see so much negativity in the news and online, but through couponing we truly can impact many lives in such a positive way. You just never know how much it may impact and bless someone’s life.

As always, I will continue to put together Kroger Shopping Scenarios to help all you Newbies out 😊 It will be step-by-step instructions. This will show you, just how easy it is to coupon and how much money you can save. I am confident you will never go back to paying full price once you start couponing.

Also, be sure to listen to 101.5 The River on Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. as I will be on with Rick giving the best deals of the week and sometimes sharing some funny family stories, including many about my husband, Jamie (but before I share I always get permission from him) He is a good sport and also has many stories to share about me J

This is not just about birth fathers but any man that has stepped up and loved and taken care of a child. We have 7 children and I know our kids are blessed to have my husband, Jamie, as their father. Our kids are looking up to us parents as their role models and I am glad my kids have the dad they do to be their role model. I would also like to say a special Happy Father’s Day to my father-in-law, Tom Crothers, whom we love dearly. There are also MANY printable coupons that you can print from freetastesgood.com – just go to the website and then click on the printable coupons dropdown box.

Each week I encourage you to pick up extra papers and save BIG. You will save a TON on things you buy and use every day. Did you know if you already subscribe to the Blade, you can pick up additional Sunday papers for ONLY $1? Visit freetastesgood.com and I will show you how!

Don’t pay full price, let us show you how to save with the Blade’s weekly coupons. Follow us daily on the Blade Plus FB page and the blog and/or visit us also on
FB at FreeTastesGood. Let us do all the work for you. It’s like putting extra money in the bank.

Just the coupons I mentioned above total over $26 in savings and that is only a few of the many coupons that we will be receiving this week. This is a great week to pick up a few EXTRA papers!! It really is that easy. Go to the store, take your coupons, and BAM you will be saving each week on things you already purchase.

The paper pays for itself when you take advantage of the $101.65 in savings this week. Go out and have some fun, but most importantly save money right here weekly in The Toledo Blade where Saving Money with Joni makes Cents!!

Save $267.45 on 6.1.18

There is $267.45 worth of savings this week in The Blade. We will be receiving 1 SS (Smart Source), 1 Retail Me Not (formerly known as RedPlum), and 1 Brandsaver (formerly known as P&G). If that wasn’t awesome enough, these coupons align nicely with the Kroger Mega Event which runs through Tuesday, June 12th. This is a buy 5, save $5 instantly and will be a great time to stock up on many products. Remember, you don’t have to purchase 5 of the same products, you only have to purchase in quantities of 5 of participating products.

How many of you get excited about the Kroger Mega Events now? Many people have told me, I have my voice and then I HAVE my coupon voice, lol 😊 Right now I will be using my coupon voice because these deals are AMAZING!!

Here are a few of my favorite Kroger Deals:

That’s just some of the coupons, but there are many others that also pair nicely with the Kroger Mega Event. I love the Mega Events so much because it is a time that we can stock up on many items that we use every day.

I have put together another Kroger Shopping Scenario that features over $100 in products for under $20. I give step by step instructions, where to get the coupons. All you have to do is go to the store and purchase the products. You will see that with using coupons, you will get name-brand products, cheaper than generic products. That is the coolest part about couponing – items that you used to think were expensive, you will be able to purchase for cheap and sometimes even FREE! Remember, Free Tastes Good 😊

Happy Memorial Day!

There are no coupons in this week’s Blade due to the holiday weekend. Memorial Day is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered. Many of us observe it by having a cookout and/or time with our families. I remember this as the weekend that my parents would always open our pool and I think many of the area pools will open this weekend. However you celebrate it, I hope you make great memories with your family and friends.

On the weekends that we do not receive any coupon inserts, I spend time getting rid of my expired coupons. Did you know that you can send expired coupons (up to 6 months) to our miliary overseas. Also, some of our local legion halls accept them and send them to the military. It is an easy way to give back to those protecting our country.

There are many sales at Meijer and Kroger on hot dogs, hamburgers, condiments, fresh fruits, etc because it is the beginning of cookout season. I bet you didn’t know “cookout” was a season did you 😊?

Do any of you have any favorite summer recipes for cookouts or family gatherings? We have a jalapeno dip that everyone loves – it isn’t too “hot”, but has enough flavor that it is always a BIG hit at any gathering we have. Visit my blog freetastesgood.com and share your favorite recipes or browse some of our recipes under the “awesome recipes” tab.

It’s time to kick back, fire up those grills, and get cookin 😊. So often we get so busy with daily life, that we forget to be in the “moment”. If you’re like Jamie (my husband) and me, we need to just slow down and enjoy what is right in front of us. This is always a great weekend to make fantastic memories that will last a lifetime. Some of my favorite memories are around the bonfire; especially when I throw food in the fire because I have no self-control. I have been known to throw a bag of Cheetos in the fire so I didn’t eat the whole bag. Can anyone else relate?! We set the everyday chores, worries, stress aside and take a day to just enjoy life and all the blessings we have in front of us.

Also, the MudHens are home tonight and tomorrow. It is always a great time to go to a MudHens game, especially with nice weather forecasted. If you go, be sure to look for our son who is working on the grounds crew. He LOVES being a part of the MudHens’ Family.

If you are still paying full price for items, why not take some extra time today and check out our website at freetastesgood.com and save BIG? You may be surprised how easy it is and how much FUN you will have! All the cool people coupon – Just Kidding, BUT most of us do LOL 😉
