There is $16 worth of savings this week in The Blade. With it being a holiday weekend, we will not be receiving the “normal” coupons, but rather will be receiving $6 in Steak N Shake coupons (which is ALWAYS a bonus) and a $10/$25 purchase at Kohl’s. So you can take a trip out for lunch and then go to Kohls and then come home and spend some good, quality family time. We are planning a BIG cookout this weekend with friends and family. Always, one last family/friend cookout before the end of summer and the closing of our pool. Do any of you have BIG plans?
This is a good weekend to go through your old inserts and get rid of all those coupons that have expired. I usually always do this at the beginning of the month. Did you know that you can send your expired coupons overseas to the military? They can use expired coupons up to 6 months from the expiration date. This is a huge blessing to them and their families.
Also, remember the Kroger Mega Event is still going on. It is a Buy 5, Save $5 instantly and runs through 9/4/18. Remember, you do not have to purchase 5 of the same items, you just need to purchase in quantities of 5 of participating products, i.e. items that are included in the Mega Event.

This Mega Event was a very good one, with many items that you can stock up on. Kool-Aid Jammers only $0.69 – no coupons needed. This is a great stock up price and great for back-to-school lunches. Did you notice we EVEN have FREE Toothpaste. I always tell everyone, once you start couponing you should NEVER pay for toothpaste – EVER!! If this is not the brand you use, please consider donating back to our community and blessing someone less fortunate than yourself.
Be on the lookout for the back-to-school clearance deals that will be beginning at many stores. Some stores will not start until after Labor Day as many Michigan schools do not start until the day after, but keep your eyes open for all those BIG deals. I have my own little Back-to-School Store in my closet for our kids!
